December 2010
PRAYER POINTS FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER:
- The country of Myanmar is in desperate need of prayer. With the end of the nation-wide elections, the government is no longer worried about internal politics and is now concentrating on eliminating ethnic army groups. Many are becoming victims of torture, abuse and being driven from homes and loved ones. Pray especially for the ASAP missionaries’ and believers’ safety that are residing in the Kachin, Shan, Karenni, Karen, Mon, Pegu, Thaninthayi States for they may be in immediate risk.
- Some of our Cambodian Adventist church members had relatives who lost their lives in the recent bridge stampede which claimed more than 300 lives. Pray for the millions in Cambodia and in other parts of Southeast Asia who are dying and losing loved ones who are without hope of eternal life in Christ Jesus. Pray that the Spirit of God would move and bring light to those in darkness.
- Leona Gouge, who served as a volunteer coordinator of an ASAP English language school project in Muak Lek, Thailand, recently passed away in a car accident. Pray that God will comfort her family members as they grieve the loss of a loved one. Pray also for Leona’s husband, David, who was with Leona in the car accident and is badly injured.
- ASAP is blessed with a team that believes in prayer. With the many challenges that we are facing at home and abroad in Southeast Asia, we ask you to pray that we will not grow weary in prayer as the disciples did in the final moments of Jesus’ life. Pray that God would mightily outpour His Spirit on us and teach us how to prevail in prayer, personally and corporately.
- Pray that God will mightily fulfill His promise in Ephesians 3:20 for ASAP operations and the work in Southeast Asia as 2010 comes to an end. We believe that God is certainly willing and “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.”
