Monthly Prayer Points
PRAYER POINTS FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER:
- The International Day of Prayer (IDOP) for the persecuted church is Sunday, November 14, 2010. IDOP is a time set apart for us to remember our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who are persecuted because they confess Jesus Christ as Lord. During this month, please lift up ASAP’s persecuted workers and church members in Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. “You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry” (Ps. 10:17).
- Life as a refugee is difficult for most of us to fathom. Health, hunger, homelessness and unemployment amid an economic downturn are some of the challenges refugees face as they resettle in the United States. Pray for more laborers who can minister to the thousands for SDA Karen who are resettling in this country. Also pray that Seventh-day Adventist churches will open their doors to provide food and support for thousands of refugees from Myanmar who are resettling to the United States.
- Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in the world with very little educational structure and a largely uneducated workforce. Many people suffer from poverty, hunger, oppression and human rights abuse. Thousands live in hiding due to civil unrest. Please pray that God would pour out His Spirit on this country which is currently experiencing tension between the central government and ethnic armed groups.
- Pray that God will fulfill His promise in 2 Corinthians 9:8 for the ASAP operations. God is able to make all grace abound toward [ASAP] that [ASAP] may always have all sufficiency in all things [including sufficient funds to operate] and may have an abundance for every good work.
- Greater than our need for funds and laborers is our need for the mighty outpouring of God’s Spirit as was experienced on the day of Pentecost. We are in need of seeing the promise in Acts 1:8 fulfilled where Jesus said, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Please join us in praying for the mighty outpouring of God’s Spirit on the ASAP team, the national missionaries and on all of God’s people.
