Education

“Love, the basis of creation and of redemption, is the basis of true education” (Education, pg. 16). Each ASAP education project exists and grows out of love for the under-privileged women and children in Southeast Asia. Each meal is prepared with a heart of love. Each lesson the literacy teachers teach, is taught in a spirit of love. Through this process, the recipients get to know God, their merciful Father for the first time and many cannot help but fall in love with Him. Your “love gifts” for these projects help ASAP offer the truest and best form of education to the illiterate in Southeast Asia.

	#301 SPONSOR AN AT-RISK CHILD $20/month $240/year to help educate one student Combat evil by praying for and giving to help one or more children escape hunger, child labor, and possibly being trafficked. Your gift will give them a life-changing opportunity to receive a quality Christian education in an ASAP Feed and Read School. You can help start a new Feed & Read school in an equally impoverished area of Cambodia. Depending on the number of students, this will cost between $5,000-$10,000 for the first year of operation.
	#302 EQUIP ONE CHILD WITH BASIC SCHOOL SUPPLIES $30 provides supplies for one student Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world and children consider it a privilege, not burdensome, to attend school. Many parents cannot pay for school supplies and thus, their children cannot even attend public school. Your $30 gift will provide one student with a school uniform, school shoes, and a backpack full of school supplies so they are ready for school.
	#303 PROVIDE A LITERACY/BIBLE TEACHER FOR A POOR VILLAGE $40/month stipend Help one Christian literacy teacher bring hope to illiterate women and children by teaching them how to read and write. This simple yet effective Christ-centered program provides a much needed service, which opens hearts to Bible studies and Jesus.
	#304 BUILD A SCHOOL/CHURCH $1,500 for a bamboo and thatch school/church $5,500-25,000 per permanent structure ASAP is committed to providing simple yet sturdy literacy schols and churches. Though these structures are not covered with gold as Buddhist temples are, they hold much value in heaven's eyes for Holy Spirit-filled prayer, praise, and Bible study that takes place in them. (Note: Costs vary for each building project.)
	#305 GIVE A STUDENT THE BEST TEXTBOOK EVER WRITTEN $5 Vietnam, $10 Cambodia, $25 Lao, $25 Karen, $20 Thai Bibles The Bible continues to be a popular textbook used in ASAP sponsored literacy tools. ASAP believes each child should own a copy of God’s word. Your gift can make that possible.
	#306 HELP ONE CHILD OF AN SDA PASTOR ATTEND AN ADVENTIST SCHOOL $20/month ASAP believes in Adventist education and would like to see our PK’s enrolled in Adventist schools. The modest incomes of the SDA pastors in Southeast Asia make it difficult for many to send their children to Adventist schools. Your gift will make it possible for more PK’s to get a good Christian education.
	#308 CHANGE LIVES TODAY AND TOMORROW--HELP THE VIETNAMESE SDA SCHOOL *$240/year for one student (or $20/month) $300,000 to construct a new school building (join with others to make this dream a reality) The Vietnamese SDA School is one of the Feed & Read schools in Cambodia. This school is known in the community as the “Life Changing School” because the children’s behavior changes are so apparent.  150 Vietnamese street children no longer resort to gangs, prostitution, gambling, and stealing. Instead, they spend each day with Christian teachers, learning valuable life skills and about their Savior who loves them. With the increased in enrollment, there is a need for an adequate building in which to study and play. You can make it possible for many more students to attend this “Life Changing School.” *The increased amount for sponsorship from prior years is due to the rising costs for rice and utilities in Phnom Penh.
	#309 GIVE THE GIFT OF LEARNING TO READ $40/month stipend for a literacy teacher $50 for classroom supplies (white board, etc.) Your gift for the literacy program will help a woman or child learn to read for the first time. This simple yet effective program also shares Jesus with illiterate women and children.
	#310 KEEP KIDS SAFE $750 - shelter for one child per year $85 - training for one child per year An alarming number of children in Asia are orphaned, physically and/or sexually abused. ASAP seeks to establish a Safe House which will provide certain Feed & Read students a safe Christian "home" to live and additional vocational training so they can get respectable jobs in the future.
	#311 PROVIDE LUNCH FOR 80 CHILDREN FOR ONE DAY $30/day $150/week The nutritious meals served each day at the Feed & Read schools are often the only food the students get. Just think, for the price of a couple large pizzas, you can feed a whole school!
