The Miracle Bible

By a Member of the SDA Disaster Committee

Saw Robert and his family live in the Phena Gone village and are members of the Seventh-day Adventist church there. On the 2nd of May after having morning worship with his family, Saw Robert carefully placed his son’s well-used, worn out Bible on top of the book shelf. Later that day, as the winds grew stronger and the tidal waves rushed in, Saw Robert and the family’s kitchen collapsed. They were forced to take shelter in the house-church nearby.

After the storm subsided, they were able to return to their house. Upon arriving home they discovered that their whole house had become completely ruined by the wind and the tidal waves. The family members walked around in a daze, trying to see what they could salvage where over eight feet of water had passed through. There was very little they could save. All of a sudden, Saw’s eyes fell on the Bible that he and his family had read from earlier that morning. As he carefully picked it up, he noticed that the Bible was just as dry and clean as he had left it.

If God could preserve the Bible in such a miraculous way, do we have anything to be afraid of in life? The Bible says, “The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them,” Psalm 34:7.
