About the Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Mission

To promote the preparation of ministry leaders within Southeast Asian refugee diaspora communities who desire to study theology or religion at any Seventh-day Adventist college or university and serve in North America.

Scholarship Availability

ASAP Ministries' Refugee Scholarship Funds awards up to $4,000 per selected recipient for students who are enrolled full-time in college classes at any Seventh-day Adventist college or university. Scholarships are awarded to students who have completed one year of college studies and are studying theology or religion as a means to prepare for ministry to their diaspora living in North America. 2020 marks the third year that these scholarships have been given to students. The scholarship is funded by donors who believe in the education of young people who desire to be ministry leaders to their diaspora communities. 

In the 2019-2020 academic year, $15,000 was awarded to five students.

Scholarship Eligibility

The scholarship is limited to Southeast Asian refugees or their children who are citizens of the United States and desire to serve in ministry to their Southeast Asian diaspora community in North America. The scholarships are limited for those students who are studying only at the undergraduate level and who are in their second, third, or fourth year of studying for a BA in Theology or Religion.

Application Requirements

  1. All applicants must be enrolled in college full-time in the academic year following the application deadline.
  2. All applicants must be U.S. or Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  3. All applicants must be Southeast Asian and be a former refugee or child of a refugee family who has been resettled into the U.S. or Canada.
  4. All applicants must be enrolled at a Seventh-day Adventist college or university and be studying theology or religion.
