Daniel Rojas

BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION
I primarily work among the Hispanic people to help them engage in missions. My job includes the translation of relevant mission materials into Spanish, giving presentations in churches and at other events, creation of videos and media content for the internet and social media, praying and visiting people interested in serving God, organizing events like the 5K Color Run in support of refugees, benefit concerts and other events that raise awareness and support for mission projects.

SCHOOLING
I hold a Bachelors’ degree in Teaching and Theology from the Adventist University in Colombia (UNAC) and a Master of Divinity. I am currently pursuing another Masters degree in  Communications, and I am also doing course work in Chaplaincy for the Doctor of Ministry program. In addition, I have completed training in health evangelism, hydrotherapy, natural remedies, digital marketing, data journalism, accounting, teaching certification, community chaplaincy, personal evangelism, and clinical pastoral experience.

HOW YOU WERE ORIGINALLY CONNECTED TO ASAP
I connected to ASAP through some Andrews University students who were working there at that time.  I became more aware of this ministry when I began writing a research paper for one of my communication strategies class.

WHEN YOU STARTED WORKING WITH ASAP
I started working in March of 2018.

FAVORITE ASAP PROJECT
Being a teacher myself, my favorite projects are those that provide quality education in order to break the cycle of poverty, drug abuse, and dysfunctional families. I am currently working on a project to help support 15 schools in Myanmar and empower the children through quality Christian education.

WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK
I enjoy learning new useful knowledge and abilities that I can employ to better serve God and the people around me. I also enjoy coaching and empowering young people and sport teams to get better in doing what they were called to do by the Lord. I also enjoy giving seminars about the use of Communication and Technology to advance the work of the Lord and to be more effective in doing outreach. Doing community chaplaincy work is also one of my favorites activities.

FAVORITE BIBLE VERSE
"But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one" (2 Thessalonians 3:3).
