Sandra Stebenne

BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION
My primary responsibility is creating and posting content for our social media platforms, though I also assist with other communication-related tasks, such as editing, as needed.

SCHOOLING
I have a Bachelor's degree in English, with a Writing Concentration, and am currently studying for both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Communication at Andrews University.

HOW YOU WERE ORIGINALLY CONNECTED TO ASAP
Andrews University has an event called "Change Day" where students, faculty, and staff spend the day volunteering in the community. As part of that event, I volunteered at ASAP Ministries. They had a job opening which I applied for, and after interviewing me, they decided to hire me.

WHEN YOU STARTED WORKING WITH ASAP
I started working with ASAP in October 2018.

YOUR FAVORITE ASAP PROJECT
I don't think I could choose just one favorite; all of ASAP Ministries' projects are interesting and important.

WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK
When the weather is warm enough, I like to go cycling or hiking; in the winter, I sometimes go ice skating. I also like arts and crafts, particularly origami, though I also enjoy coloring, sewing, and several other activities.

ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE BIBLE TEXTS
I actually have quite a few! But let's go with Philippians 1:6, which says, "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ." This verse not only reminds us that God is continually working in us, so that we will continually be learning and growing closer to Christ and more like Him, but it also reminds us that Christ is always with us -- because how else could He perfect us, unless He is with us?
