We see men and women sitting in front of their houses trying to sell a few bags of chips and laundry soap. We watch others leave their families hoping to find a better job in Thailand. Some take a job that compromises their faith, like selling alcohol or working on Sabbath.
ASAP Ministries seeks to help these poor by developing their skills and equipping them to have jobs. We provide training and microloans that enable the poor to have dignity and a better future. Some have bought sewing machines while others purchase a cow or a tractor to help in the fields. Giving work gives dignity. We are especially seeing success with this in Laos and Cambodia.
