Vietnamese Feed and Read School

Families suffer under poverty and children are at great risk without education.

Tens of thousands of Vietnamese have lived for many years in Cambodia. Typically they live along the Mekong River and the Tonle Sap Lake but thousands are also in the capital city of Phnom Penh. Relationships between the Vietnamese and Cambodians have often been tense. Many Vietnamese in Cambodia do not have citizenship and therefore do not have access to government services.

A Vietnamese pastor named Khanh had a vision to reach the large Vietnamese community in Cambodia for Christ. “What better way than starting with the children,” he thought. With ASAP Ministries' support Khanh took in young boys and girls from the street and discipled them into mature Adventist teachers, who are now leaders in a blooming school. Many girls have been saved from a life of prostitution because of the impact this school is making on their lives.
