HOW YOU WERE ORIGINALLY CONNECTED TO ASAP
Our older daughter roomed with Julia O’Carey at an Arme Bible Camp, so we connected with Julia when we moved to Berrien Springs 10 years ago. Additionally, my husband’s late father Ken Willes, who was originally from Myanmar, spoke fondly of his visits to the office when he would come to visit us.
WHEN YOU STARTED WORKING WITH ASAP
I started working with ASAP on September 7, 2022.
FAVORITE ASAP PROJECT
Children have always had a special place in my heart, especially children who are in vulnerable situations. I think my favorite ASAP projects would be the ones working with children that are refugees. They are so innocent to all the reasons that lead them to be a refugee and are longing for a stable family and environment to call home.
WHAT YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK
When I’m not working I love to spend time in God’s second book - nature. It could be hiking, backpacking or just gardening around our property at home. However, in the winter you would find me at home, in front of the fire with my knitting, or remodeling, decorating, or rearranging a room in the house. I also love to travel to places of religious history.
