Remembering Judy Aitken, ASAP Founder

Dear ASAP Family,

My dear mother, Judy Aitken, peacefully fell asleep in Jesus on the morning of December 10, while holding the hands of my sister and me at her home in Michigan. Through the past year’s struggle with cancer, the Lord answered her prayers for a clear mind to communicate with Him up until the day of her passing. In addition, she continued living a quality life to the end, dedicated to ASAP and to the ministry of others.

A humble, compassionate spiritual giant, my mother and her passion for missions will be missed by us all. While her life is characterized by missions and advocacy on behalf of others, she will best be remembered as a mighty prayer warrior who dedicated her life to lifting up Jesus in service to others. Through ASAP Ministries, the mission she founded in 1995, she leaves a beautiful inheritance and charge for each one of us. For those of you who are new to ASAP, you can read more about her life, dedicated to missions on the Meet the Founder page of our website.

Already, I feel the love and comfort of Jesus through the spiritual and emotional support from many of you, our dear friends and family of God. Thank you! May I encourage you with these words, because I know she was a spiritual mom to many of you. “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also,” (John 14:1-3). Together, we look forward to reuniting with her in heaven.

A funeral service in celebration of a life lived for Jesus was held at Pioneer Memorial Church in Berrien Springs, Michigan on December 21, 2018. You can view it here or on our Facebook page.

Per my mother’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, we invite you to give in memory of “Mother Judy” here.

With Gratitude,

Julia O’Carey, Director
